Derek Jeter- Last of a Dying Breed

Derek Jeter won the American League Rookie of The Year in 1996, he is entering is final season in the big leagues. He has spent his entire career with the New York Yankess. Jeter is the last of a dying breed in American sports. An athlete that spends his entire career with one team. We are used to stars like Lebron James taking their talents elsewhere for a chance to win a ring or simply for the love of the money. Jeter spending his career with the Yankees isn't the only thing that sets him apart from other athletes. In the twitter age (I dont think Jeter has a twitter account) and the 24 hours news cycle and shows like TMZ, Jeter has maintained a scandal free career. No arrests, no beat up girlfriends, no 7 baby mamas. Jeter always carried himself with class on and off the field. So many of the players he played with and against have had their careers marred by steroids and human growth hormone and other performance enhancing drugs. Jeter never failed a drug test. Jeter is a class act on and off the field. Jay Z said he made the NY Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee did, I beg to differ Hov, Jeter aka the Captain will go down as one of the most important Yankees in history. Retiring around the age of 40, Jeter has his whole life to enjoy his fortune. 2014 Major League Baseball will say good bye to a good guy! Enjoy his last season, a player like this wont come around for another lifetime!
