Andre 3000 & Big Boi of Outkast Working On New Solo Albums?

There are more OutKast rumors afloat. Apparently the rap duo are preparing to release solo albums prior to releasing a reunion LP. Queen Latifah recently let this info slide in a Howard Stern interview–then she denied having said it. Now a different affiliate of OutKast, Mr. DJ, says they ARE working on new material at the Stankonia Studios, of course.

The duo’s producer spoke to Revolt TV, and says that the Andre 3000 and Big Boi have been hitting the Stankonia Studio to lay down tracks for their respective solo efforts (we have seen possible evidence of this). Mr. DJ says that a lot of material has been recorded, and while he can’t say for certain, he expects Andre to drop a solo album this year.

Mr. DJ continued to tell Revolt that Big Boi is also a frequent visitor to the studio, putting down verses for his own album. The producer hypothesizes that the bigger picture will look something like this: OutKast head on their 40-date reunion tour, drop their solo projects, and then head back in the studio for a new album together.
